About Your First Visit

Information Desk: Information Desks are located at the Main Entrance (South Building) and Entrance B (North Building) where hospital volunteers are ready and willing to assist you. They can help with visiting hours, locating patient rooms, directions, parking and taxi/public transportation and more.

Wayfinding: Volunteers will be on hand to help you find your way through the new hospital. Maps will also be available. Wall directories are located by each elevator on the Main Level. Users of the Registration Kiosks for repeat visits will receive directions to their specific treatment area.

Visiting Hours: Visitors are welcome between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm daily. Each patient may have two visitors at a time. Children under 13 years of age are permitted to visit only in special circumstances. Special Visitor Guidelines apply in some units. Please check beforehand with your caregiver.

Infection Control: Please wash your hands often! Regular hand washing helps avoid the spread of infection to patients, yourself, your family and others. Alcohol hand rinse/foam stations are conveniently located throughout the hospital.

Not Feeling Well? Do not visit patients if you have a cough, cold, fever, or are feeling unwell. You may infect someone with your illness. Please reschedule your visit when you are feeling better.

After Hours Access: After 9:00 pm daily, emergency patients, mothers in labour and specially approved visitors must enter the hospital via the Emergency Department Entrance, located at the southwest corner of the hospital. Please report to the Security/Information Desk upon entry.
