Ethics

The Ethicist is a resource for patients and families who are faced with difficult ethical issues and may be asking "what should we do" or  "what is the right thing to do?"

An Ethicist is a person who has been educated and trained to assist with ethical problems that arise in health care settings. In addition to special training in bioethics, Ethicists have backgrounds in law, medicine, philosophy, theology and, often, in one of the various health  professions.

Patients and family members are free to contact the Ethicist at (416/905) 494-2120, extension 56630 to arrange for a consultation.
